Our medical team is also committed to protecting the environment. Planting campaigns are organised around the hospital.
NM, a 19-year-old businesswoman living in Kachumbala village -Bukedea district about 10 km from our facility, Salem Kolonyi Hospital, arrived at midnight at our premises as a referral following 12 hours of being in labor due to pre-eclampsia with severe features.
This was at the time their precious baby, for they had lost their first as a miscarriage two years back which she reports to have been a painful experience. They were more than expectant and anxious at the same time.
While under close monitoring, controlling her blood pressure, and doing further investigations, it was discovered that her little one was becoming distressed. The team was readily available to conduct an emergency cesarean section at 3:00 am at our state-of-the-art new theatre the newest and one of the best in the region with modern facilities.
The mother upon, hearing that she was to have her surgery conducted from the new theatre expressed awe and thought it a great privilege.
Her baby boy was delivered at 3.30 am with a good APGAR score of 8 at 1 minute and 10 at 5 minutes. Mother and child left the theatre alive and well and were admitted to the post-natal Preeclampsia unit /HDU for post-operation care and monitoring for 72 hours. They were discharged all well and expressed tremendous appreciation for the great ambiance and great care they obtained. The caretakers commented and said they had never seen such well-built organized facilities and appreciated the good hospital environment.
Here you can see a short film about our cooperation with the German Doctors association. We are very grateful for the opportunities this offers our medical staff.
